CR Japan (Cool Rare Japan).
1995 CR Japan started in Tokyo (Japan) and began operations as a distributor of independent music for foreign record labels (punk, hard rock, indie rock etc).
1996 Commenced record label operations. Licensing, promoting, releasing and touring foreign artists under our in house labels
1998 Started recruiting and releasing Japanese domestic artists.
2002 Began selling used vinyl records, rare used guitars and basses on Ebay through our Tokyowax and Batfuk stores direct to customers (B2C). Tokyowax now operates in the USA only. Batfuk is currently dormant.
2008 Diversified to offer rare made-in-Japan used synthesizers, speakers, turntables, guitar effect pedals and hi-fi components to the international market.
2010 Branched to importing a wide range of home and outdoor goods from overseas suppliers and selling to the domestic Japan market through our Mama's Choice store on Japan's largest online store Rakuten.
2016 Ended music distribution and record label operations. Also closed our Mama's Choice Rakuten store and stopped selling used vinyl records to concentrate earnestly on the used musical instrument and hi-fi mostly to stores and resellers around the world (B2B).
2017 Commenced B2B purchasing, handling and shipping of rare Japanese Whisky to foreign based customers.
2020 Officially licensed by the Japanese Government to buy rare Japanese alcohol from the public in Japan for sale to foreign based customers.
CR Japan is based in the central Tokyo suburb of Nogata (Nakano).
Over the years we have built strong alliances with our suppliers and shippers and most importantly our customers.
